The Most Rewarding Award of All

Each year, Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple awards two scholarships are based in part on high academic achievement and a commitment to community service. George Chiou

In the Blink of an Eye

After 33 years in the field of medical research, George Chiou, Ph.D., has become one of the world’s leading researchers in ocular pharmacology. Dr. Chiou joined the Texas A&M Health Science Center’s College of Medicine faculty in 1978 after completing ground-breaking research at the University of Florida where he and his research team developed the first drug for glaucoma called Timolol.
